MiFID - legislation governing securities markets

On 1 November 2007 legislation, based on MiFID (Markets in Financial Instruments Directive), took effect within the EU. The intention is to create an integrated market within the EU with increased efficiency and competition and improved investor protection.

What does MiFID mean for you?

For you as a client of Swedbank, this will involve only small changes. Regulations in Luxembourg and our way of working as advisors to our customers already provide you with good protection. However, you may anyway notice that we will be more careful about updating our records concerning your personal financial situation and that we need to ensure that your market knowledge and experience is sufficient to appreciate the risks related to the financial instruments which interest you.
